N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Stutsman County State’s Attorney Fritz Fremgen is on the lookout for a new Assistant State’s Attorney following the announced resignation of Jeffery Davis

Fremgen informed the Stutsman County Commission that Davis submitted that his last day would be November 29th after one year of service in the position.

Fremgen reports that Davis’s cases have been divided up between himself and his staff. He says he is using the website Indeed as well as putting in requests to schools such as UND School of Law for prospective employees. Fremgen says the Assistant State’s Attorney job is in demand in much of the state, causing competition against other counties to fill the resignation in Stutsman County.

Fremgen says he and his office may need to put in extra hours to make up for the loss of Davis. He also says his office continues to work towards a record number of cases for 2017.
