VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Valley City started slow but came away with a 3-1 victory against Red River in the opening round of The EDC Tournament. The Hi-Liners won 23-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-18. Now Valley City will play for a spot in conference championship game Friday night against Davies.

Valley City’s defense had 5 players reach double figure digs with 3 surpassing 20. Kacee White led the way with 33, Reagan Ingstad and Macy Olstad had 23 each and Lexi Ondracek and Mackenzie Pederson 15 each. Pederson and Josie Berntson also added 3 blocks.

Cali Halgrimson scored 14 kills. Olstad and Pederson collected 11 each with Berntson adding 10. Ingstad registered 49 assist and 5 aces.
