MADISON, S.D. (PlayNorthStar.com)- Valley City State sophomore kicker Landon Arredondo has been named the NSAA Special Teams Player of the Week after setting a new school record on Saturday.

Arredondo went 9-for-9 on extra point attempts in VCSU’s 66-27 win at Presentation College, breaking the old school record of eight made extra points set by Dillon Davis in 2010. It is the second time this season that Arredondo has been named the NSAA Player of the Week.

Karsten Mack of Dickinson State (N.D.) was honored as the Offensive Player-of-the-Week, while his teammate Thomas Sease was selected as the Defensive Player-of-the-Week.

Football Special Teams Player of the Week

Landon Arredondo – Valley City State (N.D.) – 5’10” – 201 lbs., Sophomore – kicker – Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. – Arredondo set a new school record with nine (9) successful PAT extra-point kicks in Valley City State’s (N.D.) 66-27 road rout at Presentation (S.D.).  He broke the previous record of eight set back in 2010 by Dillon Davis.  Arredondo was 10-for-11 on kicks, including 9-for-9 on PAT extra-point kicks and made a 23-yard field goal.
