(NewsDakota.com) Last year, the Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm football team went into Langdon in the semifinals and defeated Langdon Area/Edmore/Munich by 30.

On Saturday, the Cardinals got the better of EEK, and ended the Thunder’s chance to repeat as Class A Champions with a 35-14 victory.

#2 Langdon (10-0) scored on their first drive with a 10 yard touchdown run by Connor Tetrault, but missed on a two-point conversion.

#5 EEK (8-2) would then score on the next drive, needing just two plays before quarterback Jake Dewald connected with fullback Nathan Peterson for a 60 yard reception.

Tetrault would score again from three yards out in the early second quarter, and again from nine yards out in the early third quarter. EEK would put up their only other score of the game in the latter stages of the third; as Dewald hit tight end Lane Hanson in the back of the end zone.

In the fourth, Cardinal quarterback Jacob Delvo threw a 31 yard touchdown pass to Anfernee Economy to put the game out of reach.

Langdon moves on to the Class A Semifinals, where they will play Velva on Saturday, November 4.
