N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Bismarck National Weather Service is reporting that high impact winds will be striking most of North Dakota today and Friday.
Meteorologist Ken Simosko reports that Northwest winds between 40 to 60 mph are expected to continue today and tomorrow for much of the Eastern part of the state. This includes Jamestown, Harvey, Edgeley, LaMoure, Carrington, and Oakes. The wind will also be bringing the possibility of snow.
“Snowfall as high as 2 inches in the Turtle Mountains Thursday, with up to 1 inch in the James River Valley,” Simosko reports. “[There will be] areas of reduced visibility in falling snow and wind.”
Simosko explains that it will also be much colder Thursday through Friday night with single digit wind chills. He says the below average temperatures will continue into early November.
National Weather Service meteorologist Vince Godin said the heavier snowfall amounts will hit northwestern Minnesota.
