VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Phase II of the permanent flood protection project in Valley City along Main Street near the Rosebud Visitors Center is underway.

KLJ spokesman Chad Petersen said preliminary work starting this week with the pouring of the flood wall foundation.

Earlier this year, the city of Valley City awarded a contract to Reiner Inc., for the second phase of the permanent flood protection project.

Once completed, the wall will protect the downtown district. Once freeze up hits, construction will resume again in March of 2018.
