MADISON, S.D. (PlayNorthStar.com)- Valley City State junior Grace Miller was named the NSAA Cross Country Women’s Runner of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. It is the third straight conference honor for Miller, a junior from St. Cloud, Fla.

Matthew Young of Jamestown (N.D.) was named to the Men’s Runner of the Week.

Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Grace Miller – Valley City State (N.D.) – Junior – St. Cloud, Fla. – Miller of Valley City State (N.D.) placed sixth overall and was the top North Star Athletic Association finisher at the Mount Marty (S.D.) Invitational.  She clocked a time of 19 minutes, 36 seconds in the women’s 5K race that featured a total of 94 runners.

Looking Ahead
The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Cross Country Conference Championships are set for Friday, Nov. 3 in Jamestown, N.D.  The cross country meet will be held at Parkhurst Cross Country Course (6 miles north of Jamestown on Highway 52/281 – toward Carrington) and 1 mile west on 30th Street Southeast).  The women’s 5K race kicks off at 11 a.m., followed by the men’s 8K race at 11:45 a.m.  The team winner in each division will earn an automatic bid to the NAIA Women’s & Men’s Cross Country National Championships in Vancouver, Wash. on Nov. 18.
