VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City has been a proactive community over the past 17 years receiving North Dakota Forest Service grants for tree planning and other planting projects.

A print “For the next hundred years” was distributed to Valley City and other award winning communities in North Dakota.

Valley City Beautification Committee member Bobby Koepplin said Valley City Mayor Dave Carlsrud and City Administrator, David Schelkoph thought it would be most appropriate to get the print framed and be presented to an outstanding Committee member volunteer of either the Valley City Beautification Committee or Hi-Line Prairie Gardens and Orchard Steering Committee.

Koepplin saind Becky and Daryl Heise have attended numerous work sessions, providing their time, pickup, trailer, tools, and wheel barrow etc., making behind the scenes arrangements, assisting in project grant writing, planting, watering, mulching, staking and pruning on over 14 different planting projects.  He added, as volunteers they have worked tirelessly and have been just all around real troopers with respect to engagement in making a difference in the landscape of Valley City.?

Robert Falk, chairman, of the Valley City Beautification Committee and Casey Williams, chairman of the Hi-Line Prairie Gardens & Orchard Steering Committee both said they can always count on Becky and Daryl to lend a helping hand with volunteer projects in the city.
