JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown has announced they will appeal the fine given to them by the U.S. Department of Education.
A fine of $210,000 was applied to the University for reportedly violating federal laws that require colleges and universities to report crime on campus while also enacting a drug and alcohol abuse prevention program. This is also known as the Clery Act.
The University previously alleged that their violations were “procedural or clerical in nature.”
The case will be referred to the Department of Education’s Office of Hearings and Appeals.
