N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—-The Carrington football picked up a big win over Park River-FL 34-8, piling up 399 yards of offense. After losing for the first time a week earlier Carrington scored on it’s first possession and held Park River scoreless until the third quarter. Drew Page led the Cards with  141 rushing yards on 18 carries including a 15 yard TD run that gave the Cards a 27-0 with 9:49 to play in the third quarter. The Aggies would score on the next possession but couldn’t generate anymore points and fell to the Cardinals 34-8.

Payton Smith added 41 rushing yards on 4 carries including a 1 yard score. Kaden Wolsky picked up 42 yards on 8 carries. Hayden Schmitz completed just 3 passes in the game but 2 of them went for touchdowns. Schmitz connected with McCoy VandeHoven on a 30 yard completion on the first drive of the game giving the Cards a 7-0 lead. Schmitz also connected with Kolton Vetter on a 61 yard TD pass in the second quarter. Carrington finished the game with 271 rushing yards on 40 carries.

Owen Irvine led Park River with 74 rushing yards on 10 carries. Adam Zavalnay completed 10 of 30passes for 80 yards and 1 interception. Park River drops to 3-4 overall and 3-3 in class A Region 2 and Carrington improved to 6-1 overall 4-1 in class A Region 2. Carrington will travel to Cooperstown next Friday versus Central Dakota and the game will be aired on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com
