(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High volleyball tea won the Lisbon-Enderlin Invitational tournament over the weekend.

The Tornadoes placed second in the Enderlin pool, after splitting with Richland and Northern Cass 1-1 and sweeping Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page 2-0. In the Enderlin Championship bracket, Oakes swept Bismarck Century’s junior varsity 2-1, beat Northern Cass 2-1 in the semifinals, and won the Enderlin Championship with a 2-0 sweep over Richland.

Oakes then defeated Lisbon 25-17, 25-17 to win the overall championship. Nicole Schmitz was elected to the All-Tournament team.

The Tornadoes return to Class B District 5 play Tuesday, October 3 when they host Midkota. Coverage on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com starts around 7 p.m.
