(NewsDakota.com) In spite of having more first place votes in the latest poll, the Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm football team fell to the second spot in the state.

That seemed not to matter one iota to the Thunder, as Jacob Dewald threw for three touchdown passes, and three different running backs scored in the second quarter alone, as EEK rolled past Northern Cass 42-12 Friday night.

Dewald threw his scoring passes to three different receivers; Phillip Hagen in the first quarter, and Lane Hanson and Lucas Hofer in the fourth. In the third quarter, EEK (6-0, 5-0 Class A Region I) saw rushing touchdowns from Cole Goehring, Clayton Grueneich, and Nathan Peterson.

The biggest test yet for #2 EEK comes next Friday, October 6, when they host #1 Hillsboro/Central Valley. HCV remained perfect Friday after blasting Kindred 42-0. Kickoff Friday from Edgeley is set for 7 p.m.
