MEDORA, N.D. (VCSUVikings.com) – Valley City State’s golf teams wrapped up the fall season on Tuesday with the second round of the North Star Athletic Association Conference Tournament.
The first two rounds the 72-hole tournament were played Monday and Tuesday at Bully Pulpit Golf Course. The final two rounds will be played in April and hosted by Waldorf University.

Summary
The Viking men end the first two rounds in fourth place overall after shooting a 315 on Tuesday. VCSU’s two-round total of 625 (310-315) is 37 shots back of leader University of Jamestown (588, 298-290). Bellevue (607, 310-297) sits in second place and Viterbo University is in third (610, 309-301). Waldorf University and Dickinson State are in fifth and sixth, respectively.
Individually, VCSU sophomore Jeremie Pasitney followed his first round 75 with a round of 76 on Tuesday. His two-round total of 151 has him in sixth place overall and nine shots back of first place. Jamestown’s Zach Gomez blistered the course on Tuesday with a 4-under round of 68. He currently has a four shot lead for first place.
Viking junior Jared Lentz came back strong on Tuesday with a round of 74, moving up to 11th place overall with a 155 total. Cameron Rall (80-80, 160) sits in 20th place; Casey Julson (76-86, 162) is in 22nd and Kyle Wiebe (79-85, 164) is tied for 23rd.
Women’s Summary
The Viking women are in sixth place overall after carding a two-round total of 843 (423-420). University of Jamestown leads the women’s tournament, followed by Viterbo University, Bellevue University, Waldorf University and Dickinson State.
Viking senior Nicole Heinitz posted a 92 in Tuesday’s second round. Heinitz’s total of 182 (90-92) has her tied for 14th place individually.
Jayden Romfo (27th), Taren Braunberger (28th), Mikayla Smith (29th) and Megan McNamee (30th) rounded out the Viking team.
Up next: Valley City State is off for winter and will resume play in the spring.
