N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Cost may prevent the commission from building a motor grader shop anytime soon.
During their recent County Commission meeting, Stutsman County Commissioner Craig Neys brought fort the possible construction of a motor grader shop in Pingree, ND. Commissioner Dave Schwartz reported that it would be better to build one in Buchanan based on the current route.
County Road Superintendent Mickey Nenow reports that at this time, they park the motor grader next to a small shop. He says it won’t fit in the small shop where it’s located. He says during the winter, they bring the equipment to Jamestown and park it in the shop.
Neys said there was some land that would work to build a shop near Pingree.
No motion was made.
Later in the meeting, Interim Auditor Nicole Meland brought forth language line contract. She says this comes following the 2016 case involving Christine Stein.
Meland says the county would be charged $75 a month for access for 11 to 100 devices and $2.95 a minute for video American Sign Language Service. The county would also be charged $1.85 a minute for Spanish language translation service.
Chairman Mark Klose said they didn’t have much choice in the matter following the settlement with Stein, the city and county.
The commission approved the contract.
