(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High football team ended their four game losing streak with a second-half comeback spurred by special teams plays by Tyler Voightman to propel the Tornadoes to a 31-26 victory Friday night against LaMoure-Litchville/Marion.
Trailing 26-15 with under three minutes to play in the third quarter, Voightman scored on an 80 yard kickoff return for a score.
Then with just over six and a half minutes to go, Voightman scored again, this time on a 45 yard punt return, which proved to be the winning score.
Voightman also scored on an 11 yard run in the second quarter for the Tornadoes (2-4, 1-3 Class 9-Man Region III). Shay Ness scored three times for the Loboes (2-4, 2-2).
