N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Several city committees met Tuesday afternoon at the Jamestown City Hall to address several items.
The Finance & Legal Committee met first to discuss a request from the Jamestown Stutsman Development Corporation for approval of the new proposed path for providing public access incorporating the former Klose property on the east half of Section 28 in the Spiritwood Energy Park. The committee also recommended approving the sale of the FARRMS building in Medina in the amount of $122,500. The action will allow ownership transfers to access federal dollars.
The committee also recommended approving Valuations Northwest Inc. to provide building appraisal and inventory/appraisal of fixed assets for the City of Jamestown. These include construction valuation, infrastructure, travel expenses, and more. The State Fire and Tornado insurance fund would require reappraisal every six years.
During the Building, Planning & Zoning Committee, a letter was discussed from Paul Ebertz requesting the variance granted to Tim Newton at 1418 5th Ave. NE be rescinded. In the letter, Ebertz says his property is too close regarding lot coverage. The variance does not include using the property for commercial purposes. Because there wasn’t enough information, the committee moved it to the city council without recommendation.
Later in the Public Works Committee meeting, a request to suspend the Northwest Water Main lining was brought forth. Scherbenske, Inc, the company undertaking the project, made the request Tuesday. The committee approved the request to move the project until Spring 2018 without liquidation damages and no additional cost to the city.
