N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Just off a White House dinner with President Trump and other Democratic and Republican Senators, Senator Heidi Heitkamp has made her announcement. She’s running for re-election.

Heitkamp has become close to President Trump and was even considered for a cabinet post after the presidential election.

Meanwhile, State senator Tom Campbell of Grafton will seek republican support to challenge Heitkamp. Congressman Kevin Cramer is also considering the race.
