VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City High School went into a lock down for a short time on September 13 after man gained entrance into the high school building.
Superintendent Josh Johnson said with the assistance from the School Resource Officer Sean Hagen and the Valley City Police Department the individual was quickly located and placed into the custody.
Johnson said the lock down was lifted a few minutes after a man was taken into custody and normal operations resumed at the high school in Valley City.
Police Chief Phil Hatcher identified the man as 20 year-old Lucas Bergenheier of Valley City. The man was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass and Disorderly Conduct.
Hatcher said police have responded to call concerning this man in the past.
Hatcher and Johnson said the man did not threaten anyone during this incident on September 13th.
