N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It’s important to know what you’re options are when considering renting a place to live. It’s also important to know the laws and what’s required of you if you’re renting out.
The Stutsman County Housing Authority (SCHA) will be hosting a rental training event on September 13th in Jamestown. The event will provide education sessions for landlords and tenant rights.
SCHA Executive Director David Klein says this will be the first event of its kind that will offer information not only for landlords, but for tenants as well.
The free event will host landlord topics during a morning session from 8 to 12 PM that includes legal responsibilities, child protective services, fair housing, service animals and reasonable accommodations.
The tenant information will be from 1:30 PM to 4 PM and will have information on service animals. tenant rights, guides to affordable housing, renters insurance and applying for assistance.
