VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The VCHS Tennis team had a busy weekend, first hosting Mandan Friday and then taking part in The West Fargo Invite Saturday. The Hi-Liners host West Fargo Tuesday.

Mandan came through Valley City on their way to the West Fargo Invite on Saturday and played a 3-2 line-up match. This is the regional line-up consisting of three singles and two doubles where a player can only play in one event.

Saturday Results
Valley City finished tied for 13th place with Bismarck Century out of 17 teams – which is the entire state – at the West Fargo Invite. Grand Forks Central won the tournament. Earning points for our team was Josh Vachal and Trevor Winter by winning the #3 doubles consolation championship.
Valley City had a total of 16 wins and 17 losses. This is by far the most wins by the Hi-Liner boys at the WFI since stats on the WFI were taken. Of the 17 losses, about half of them could have gone either way as they were extremely competitive. The results of this tournament speaks for itself showing our team is moving in the right direction, improving, and competing each and every day.
