CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The city of Valley City approved of a bid from Sellin Brothers Inc; of Hawley Minnesota to install a new water main line along Winter Show Road.

The original estimate was $275,000 but the low bid by Sellin Brothers came in at $176,000. KLJ engineer Michael Strom talked about the project. He said the project should be completed by October 27th.

Valley City Administrator David Schelkoph said the area will get a better water flow and more fire hydrants to increase fire protection.

Schelkoph said the city will pay $151,000 for the project and the North Dakota Winter Show will pay a special assessment of $25,000 to install five fire hydrants around their event center.

Earlier, Valley Realty agreed to pay $300,000 for water line infrastructure needed for their new apartment complex along Winter Show Road.
