N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – President Donald Trump was met with cheers and applause when he arrived in Mandan, North Dakota Wednesday.

It’s his first visit to the state since taking over the Presidential role. He addressed and thanked the crowd of around 500 at the Andeavor Mandan Refinery, stating that he would have expected around twenty-five times more people, but since it was a policy speech, they only allowed in a certain amount of people. The policy? Tax reform.

President Trump stated that prior to leaving for North Dakota, he had a meeting with several members of congress on tax cuts and reform.

The Commander-in-Chief also gave his thoughts and prayers to those in Texas and Louisiana affected by the hurricane. He then turned his sights to his plans for tax cuts and reform, pointing out that America is the highest tax nation in the world. He says that the nation needs to look at North Dakota when it comes to innovation and hard work.

He boasted about North Dakota’s unemployment status, saying it is nearly half the national average.

Trump later introduced his daughter Ivanka on stage, letting her speak a little bit on the visit.

Although Trump didn’t expressly go over the plan they had to cut and reform taxes, he stated what they would like to accomplish in order to do so.

He said they would cut taxes for middle class families, which he says would be the biggest tax cut since Ronald Reagan. He also stated that they would end the death tax, relieving a burden on the farmers in the nation. Trump stated that with the cuts, it would help Make America Great Again.
