N.D. (UJ Sports Information) – The University of Saint Francis Cougars proved worthy of their number-one ranking, and then some, scoring on five of six first half possessions on the way to a 55-7 win over Jamestown Saturday at Rollie Greeno Field.
The Cougars built a 20-0 lead after the first quarter on rushing touchdowns by Justin Green (1 yard) and Ryan Cinadr (9 yards) and a 15 yard pass from Nick Ferrer to Rocky James.
Green added scoring runs of 30 and 9 yards in the second quarter as USF took a 34-0 lead into the break.
USF made it 41-0 after Piercen Harnish ran 52 yards up the middle on a short snap from a punt formation. Nate Carson would score from five yards out just under six minutes later to push the lead to 48-0.
Backup quarterback Clay Senerius found Duke Blackwell on a five yard scoring pass just over the midway point of the fourth quarter to make it 55-0.
The Jimmies got on the board with their first touchdown of the season, as James Hagen caught a 10-yard pass from Jordan Mann.
