N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Law Enforcement from all across the state were in Jamestown Wednesday for a Calibre Press Street Survival seminar.

Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger reports that the course was funded with a grant from the North Dakota Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) board. According to Calibre Press, the program’s foundation is understanding and training realistically for stress events.

“From driving too fast and using unwarranted amounts of force to ineffective communication and the inability to decompress off-duty,” their website states. “The seminar emphasizes the need to understand and manage stress as the key to professional and personal success.”

Chief Edinger said, “Topics are current trends in the country, safety, health and fitness and a number of critical incident case studies.”

The course has been offered for 36 years, emphasizing the need to understand people and communicate effectively.
