N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Shanley Deacons took control of the game on a touchdown pass with four seconds left in the first half and it turned out to be the game winning score. Jamestown trailing 14-0 into the fourth quarter couldn’t finish off their rally, losing 14-7 with their final drive ending at the Shanley 33-yard line.

Shanley was marching leading 14-0 in the final quarter before an interception stopped their drive cold. Jamestown finally got their run game going and Zach Petrek capped off the ensuing drive with the first points of the game from six-yards out.

The Deacons got the ball back with 5:30 left and went on the move again before a fumble gave the Jays new life. Jamestown moved the ball to the Shanley 33 before turning it over on downs to end the game.

Jamestown (0-1) will play Watford City at home on Friday.
