VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A welcome back party for Valley City State University students was held last night in Valley City.

Students crossed over the VCSU foot-bridge as a band greeted freshmen to the entrance of downtown Valley City.

VCSU president Tisa Mason said the event was a nice way to introduce students to local businesses.

Valley City Mayor Dave Carlsrud hopes the students and businesses benefited from the first annual event.

Several businesses stayed open until 7pm and some had sidewalk sales and other surprises for the students last night.
