N.D. (NewsDakota.com)——The Carrington Cardinals rushed for 305 yards and outscored Kindred 27-6 in the final three quarters to defeat the Vikings 27-13. Kaden Wolsky paced the Cards rushing attack with 139 yards on 21 carries (long of 31 yards) and had a pair of touchdowns. Wolsky scored from 8 yards and 1 yard. Drew Page added a pair of touchdowns (6 yards and 30 yards) as well racking up 105 yards on 17 carries. Page’s 30 yard TD run late in the third quarter was his longest run of the game and gave the Cards a 20-13 lead. Payton Smith added 59 yards on 2 carries and also completed all 3 of his pass attempts for 28 yards. Hayden Schmitz completed 3 of 5 passes for 50 yards. Jayden Shipman caught 2 passes for 29 yards.
Kindred was led by Keaton Rustad with 124 yards rushing on 17 carries, scoring 1 TD from 6 yards out. Quarterback Michael Hall scored the other Viking TD, scoring on an 11 yard run. Kindred moving down from AA to A this year after making it to the state title game last season, losing to Bismarck Saint Mary’s, dropped to 0-1 to start the season.
