N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A mainstay in the Wahpeton and Breckenridge communities passed away over the weekend.

Just weeks after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, Gary Rogers died around 11:30 Saturday night. Rogers’ career lasted over 50 years and included time as the news director at KBMW in Wahpeton as well as a freelance news contributor.

Rogers called over 5,000 games over that period and was a familiar voice for Wahpeton and Breckenridge high schools as well as NDSCS and NDSU.

Rogers was 72 years old. Arrangements are still pending.
