N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A two hour food distribution event in Jamestown was met with great success on July 28th.

The Great Plains Food Bank’s Pop-Up Perishable Food Program returned to Jamestown for the second time after doing a food distribution event earlier this year. Andrea Block is the Agency Relations Manager for the Eastern portion of North Dakota.

“We brought and distributed 17,450 pounds of food that day,” Block reports. “Around 223 households benefited.”

Food was given out to 263 children, 100 seniors and 326 adults, bringing the total number of individuals to 689 that participated in the food distribution.

“Our pantry partner that was there to help us was the Salvation Army in Jamestown! Community Action Food Pantry has also been there to help in the past. Volunteers are always needed,” Block mentioned.
