CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Maasjo Sisters will be sharing a variety of music Wednesday, August 2 in the City Park Bandshell starting at 7:15pm. Come early and enjoy Root Beer floats provided by the Bridges Arts Council.

The Maasjo sisters are a local trio featuring Sandy Maasjo, Shirley Buttke and Carol Thibeault. The three reside in the Valley City and Fingal area.

If you love harmony, the Maasjo Sisters will not disappoint you. Known for their effortless ability to blend and harmonize, the trio began years ago when a solo practice session turned into 3-part harmony for the first time.

Since the early years they have continued to grow musically and enjoy the challenge of choosing a song to cover and really making it their own. Their repertoire and genre of music is continuously growing and changing and may include contemporary and classic country, bluegrass, gospel, alternative and even some 60s music.

Music in the Park is sponsored by the Valley City Parks & Recreation District, Bridges Arts Council & Ingstad Family Media. A free will offering is taken each night to support the continued work on the bandshell. Bring your lawn chair or blanket.

If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the program will be moved into the VFW Club on Main Street in Valley City.
