N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Current work on Highway 40 in Stutsman County has left County Highway Superintendent Mickey Nenow with more money to use for other projects.
According to Nenow, $300,000 set aside for road work near Spiritwood Lake was more than the project cost and left his department with a surplus of around $132,760. He came before the commission to request a change order to use some of the funding for another project in the county.
Nenow says they would like to replace some concrete pipes in the culverts along Highway 10.
Nenow says the project would clean out the culverts as well and would allow them to last a lot longer. A quote for the project came in at around $25,569.60 to fix the inside of the six foot culverts. The commission unanimously approved.
The commission also approved a bid of $8,166 to Northland Windows and Doors to install new doors and windows at the Stutsman County Shop.
