N.D.  (NewsDakota.com)  Going into the championship game on Sunday afternoon, Thompson had not lost a game going 4-0 since Wednesday.  They would face Nelson County in the first championship game and Post 162 beat them 4-2 to force a second game and hand Thompson their first loss of the tourney.  In the second game, it took 11 innings for Post 181 to get the victory 6-5 and win the State B Title for the first time since 2002.  It was the eighth time the two teams met this season, with Thompson’s victory, they evened the series at four.  NC ends their season at 44-9 and runner-ups, Thompson improves to 28-6 and State Champs.  

Thompson will play at the Central Plains Regional in Wahpeton starting Wednesday, August 2nd.
