CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Canadian couple and two young girls were uninjured when a side wind caused their camper to overturn on I-94 west of Valley City.

Highway Patrol Sgt. Tom Herzig reports that Natasha and Ryan Gerace of St. Albert, Alberta were traveling westbound on I-94 at around 4:48 PM when they attempted to pass a truck and trailer. A side wind and draft from the truck caused the camper to sway from side to side. Natasha attempted to slow, the camper forced the vehicle into the median where it came to rest without damage. The camper rolled onto its side, suffering extensive damage.

Two girls, ages 11 and 6, were uninjured. Seatbelts were also worn. The camper was a complete loss, suffering $25,000 in damages. Barnes County Sheriff’s Department and Sanborn Fire and Rescue assisted with the case.
