N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The next phase of the planned soybean crushing plant project in Spiritwood has taken a step forward.
Minnesota Soybean Processors General Manager Scott Austin officially signed and presented a letter of intent to the Jamestown Stutsman Development Corporation. The letter will allow JSDC to transfer land it owns south of the Spiritwood Energy Park Association to the organization.
It also authorizes applications for loans to construct additional rail loop capacity where the North Dakota Soybean Processors plant will be built.
The $287 million plant will crush around 42 million bushels of soybeans yearly for biofuels and soy meal using locally grown crops.
