N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Fargo man is now facing felony charges stemming from a crash that took the life of a 17 year-old Belcourt teen earlier this month.

Wilmer Duane Nadeau, 54, was traveling eastbound on I-94 at around 4:25 AM July 18th when he entered the median and rolled east of Jamestown. The 17 year-old passenger, later identified as Daniel Short of Belcourt, was ejected during the crash and died on the scene.

Nadeau was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. It was later discovered that the vehicle involved was stolen from a rural residence in Spiritwood.

Nadeau was initially charged with misdemeanor DUI. He was later charged with five felonies including two counts of criminal conspiracy, two counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle and one count of child neglect. He also faces one misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
