(NewsDakota.com) – Dennis Maresh of Valley City had the honor of raising the flag during a Minnesota Twins game. He was nominated by his daughter Susan Lloyd to raise the flag before the Twins game at Target Field on July 8th.

More than 50 Maresh family members attended the game. Dennis Maresh had some assistance holding the flag including a family friend Korean War veteran Dave Zeller of Valley City, former Barnes County Veterans Service Officer Jim Drong of Valley City and three of his nephews Brian Tangen of Gretna, Nebraska, Chad Tangen of Valley City and Matt Maresh of Valley City. All have served in the armed forces.
