N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The small community of Wimbledon spent June 23rd and 24th celebrating 125 years as a city.

The event was so successful that they have already begun plans for next year.

The event showcased the Peggy Lee museum, their steak night fundraiser, supper social, 32 Below and much more. Organizer Jessie Albrecht told NewsDakota in June that the idea for the event came up two years ago during an all-school reunion.

“Thank you to all those who helped with labor material and monetary donations,” Albrecht and others say in a note submitted to the Wimbledon Newsletter. “We could not have done it without any of you… It was such a great weekend, we thought we’d do it again in 2018.”

The event has been set for July 13th and 14th and will commemorate 126 years of Wimbledon as a community.
