N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The 4th of July Holiday was festive for area residents and relatively normal for the Jamestown Fire Department.
“It was pretty quiet,” Lt. Sheldon Mohr reported Wednesday. “We only had 3 calls for service that day.”
One of those calls was near the Anne Carlsen Center when a small fire broke out in a field around 9 PM. Five units and 20 firefighters were on scene for around 20 minutes to battle the 50 foot area. Crews say it could have been either fireworks or a possible lightning strike.
No injuries were reported.
