N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – With the ongoing drought emergency in North Dakota, residents are being encouraged to practice safety when celebrating.
Jamestown Fire Chief Jim Reuther says with Governor Burgum’s recent proclamation, residents need to be mindful when and where they’re setting off their fireworks.
Ruether pointed out that the winds and little rain have inhibited the celebrations a bit so far.
A fire inspection officer spent time ahead of fireworks sales in Jamestown checking each distributor out. Chief Reuther says while they encourage everyone to celebrate this Independence Day, he says they need to be mindful while doing so.
Fireworks can be sold through July 4th and detonated within city limits until 1 AM, Wednesday July 5th.
