N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Barney, North Dakota man who was flying a crop sprayer died in a plane crash in Sargent County. Sheriff Travis Paeper said the plane went down in a bean field shortly before 8am June 29th about 8 miles west of Gwinner. The pilot plane took off from the Lisbon airport.
A farmer who lives nearby witnessed the crash from his home, about 500 yards away. Paeper says dense fog was believed to be a factor.
The pilot was working for a crop spraying company. The NTSB and the FAA is investigating the crash.
