N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – North Dakota Highway Patrol troopers will be working overnight in Stutsman County June 30th to conduct a sobriety checkpoint.

According to Sgt. Tom Herzig, troopers will set up near a predetermined location in Stutsman County and Saturation patrols will continue to work through Saturday.

“Impaired driving continues to be a problem in North Dakota,” Sgt. Herzig reports. “This year, 17 people have died in alcohol-related crashes.”

The goal of saturation events are to increase awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving, while removing impaired drivers from state roadways.

“It’s simple; if you choose to drink, do not drive,” the Highway Patrol states.
