CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The city of Valley City is pursuing a permit required to repair the Sheyenne River bank near the Old Mill Dam.
Valley City Administrator David Schelkoph said city infrastructure in that area is threatened by river bank erosion.
KLJ engineer Eric Gilbertson said the city will ask the State Water Commission for mitigation funding to help make the repair. Gilbertson said there is evidence that Devils Lake water contributed to this erosion.
Gilbertson said it will take three month to obtain the necessary permits from the U.S.A.C.E before work could begin on the river bank.
