Margery (Rygg) Freund passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Elim Care Center in Fargo, ND.  She was born the daughter of Rudolph and Mildred (Johnson) Rygg on March 11, 1922 near Clifford, ND and graduated from Hope High School in Hope, ND.  After attending Mayville State College and Interstate Business College; Ruth worked for Sweetheart Bakery in Bismarck, ND.  Later she became the manager of Commercial Printing Dept. of the Valley City Times Record.

Ruth married John J. Freund at St. Agatha’s Catholic Church in Hope, ND on May 11, 1949.  The family later moved to Tower City.  Family was of great importance and she had a great relationship with her sister MarAnn (Robert) Kamstra, Harker Heights, TX.  Ruth and John raised 4 children who survived her.  They are John (ChongAe) Freund, San Antonio, TX, Linda (John) Miller, Buffalo, ND, Robin (late Alan) Miller, West Fargo, ND and Lee (Ann) Freund, Spotsylvania, VA.

She is also survived by ten grandchildren: John P. Freund, Patricia (Greg) Whited, Danielle Miller, Matthew (Holly) Miller, Mark Freund, Kristen (Travis) Ganser, Kyla (Rob) Browning, Cody (Trisha) Miller, Michael Miller and Sarah (Ryan) Costa.  Six great-grandchildren also survive her: Olivia and Isabelle Whited, and Mason, Blake, Riley and Payton Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one nephew, and parents.

A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Monday, June 26, 2017 at St. Catherine’s Church, Valley City, ND.  Visitation will be Sunday, June 25, from 5-7 pm at Oliver Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City, ND, and visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church.  Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hope Cemetery, Hope, ND.
