CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Charges are pending against an Alabama man after he made a threatening phone call June 24th to the Family Dollar Store in Valley City.

Barnes County dispatchers received a report of a man holding a female hostage at the store.

Valley City Police Chief Phil Hatcher said police officers and deputies from the Barnes County Sheriff’s office responded to the call to find nothing unusual in the parking lot or in the store.
