N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A woman has been charged with a DUI following a two-vehicle crash between a van and semi Sunday evening west of Carrington.
NDHP Sgt. Benjamin Kenelly reports that at around 7:20 PM Sunday evening, both vehicles were traveling eastbound on Highway 52 when the Dodge Van’s hood unhooked and blew up against the windshield. The drive slowed quickly, causing the semi to brake and swerve right to avoid striking the van.
Carrington Assistant Fire Chief Jason Wolsky described the scene.
56 year-old Frances Gasper of Carrington was transported to the Carrington hospital and charged with DUI. 65 year-old Aron Sorokin was driving the semi and was uninjured in the incident.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. They were assisted by the Carrington Police Department, Foster County Sheriff’s Office and Carrington Fire Department.
