N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department was called out Wednesday morning to a fire inside the Jamestown Blue Jay hockey team’s locker room.
Lt. Sheldon Mohr reports that at around 7:23 AM, crews responded to Wilson Arena and found a smoldering fire in the locker room.
About 22 firefighters and five trucks were on the scene for about one hour. Mohr says most of the damage was from smoke.
University Vice President of Marketing Tena Lawrence reported that the University Hockey team locker room’s didn’t receive any of the damage, but were damaged earlier due to a pipe breaking.
“Most of the fire damage was contained in the high school locker room,” Lawrence says in a release. “Our locker room did sustain water damage due to a pipe breaking and some smoke damage.”
There was no one in the building and there were no injuries reported.
