CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A new show, student art from Valley City elementary students has been hung at the Mercy Gallery located at CHI Mercy Health, on the first floor between the hospital and the Sanford Clinic. The gallery is open the same hours as the hospital, from 7 am to 10 pm.
“The show is free and everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the wonderful art work created by student artists,” according to Sharon Buhr, volunteer director for the gallery.
Cheri Anderson, art instructor for Jefferson and Washington elementary schools created the exhibit. She believes that every students is an artist yet somewhere along the line they abandon that natural ability and think they cannot create successfully. Anderson’s goal is to give students the opportunity to experience different techniques and be shown how to develop skills so they can reach their full potential.
