N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Both the Jamestown Police Department and Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department were involved in a Parole and Probation search Wednesday.

According to Lt. Robert Opp, when the man in question was spotted, he fled police and led them on a brief chase. 58 year-old Charles Wesley Barton was apprehended following the chase and now faces several charges.

Although police couldn’t comment on the ongoing investigation, a search of the Stutsman County Correctional Center’s Inmate Roster finds Barton facing charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Meth with Intent, Criminal Trespass and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Reckless Endangerment, Failure to Halt, Fleeing a Police Officer, Reckless Driving and Failure to Pay Back Fines.

The investigation is ongoing.
