N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The James River Figure Skating Club will be holding their 2nd car raffle this summer.
The club held the first ever car raffle in 2016, and had massive success according to parent volunteer Judy Jorgenson. Jorgenson says the fundraiser helped them alleviate costs of several items for the club.
The first ever raffle raised over $20,000. Jorgenson says the fundraiser was so successful that it allowed them to create a scholarship fund, something the group has been trying to accomplish for several years.
The club will be selling only 2000 raffle tickets at $25 a piece. The winner of the raffle this year will receive a 2017 Buick Enclave, courtesy of Don Wilhelm’s in Jamestown. Jorgenson says the winner could also elect to receive a $15,000 prize instead of the car if they wish.
The club will be present at the 23rd Annual Kite Festival again this year selling concessions and raffle tickets to raise money.
